Hollister to open first Leicestershire store at Highcross Leicester
American fashion retailer Hollister is set to open its first store in Leicestershire, taking over the former Topshop unit at Highcross Leicester.
Hollister is preparing to open its first Leicestershire store, bringing the American clothing brand to Leicester city centre for the first time.
The retailer will move into the former Topshop unit at Highcross Leicester, with the new store expected to open this winter.
The Leicester opening will use Hollister's newer store format and will stock the brand's clothing, accessories and fragrances.
Founded in 2000 in Columbus, Ohio, Hollister is owned by American retail group Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and has grown from its US origins into an international fashion brand.
The company became particularly well known during the 2000s for its casual clothing and Southern California-inspired branding, becoming closely associated with the fashion of the era.
Hollister celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025, with renewed interest in early-2000s fashion helping introduce the brand to a new generation of shoppers as styles associated with the period have returned to mainstream fashion.
The Leicester opening will mark the latest stage of the brand's presence in the UK and its first physical store in Leicestershire.
Michelle Menezes, Centre Director at Highcross, said: โHollister has always been one of those brands that our shoppers have wanted at Highcross, and with the demand for early noughties fashion making a huge comeback, now is the right time to welcome this icon of high-street fashion to the centre.
โSince joining the centre, the goal has been to introduce brands that shoppers genuinely want to see in Leicester, and that ambition remains unchanged today. Hollisterโs an exciting addition to Highcross, and itโs just one of a number of retailers that weโre planning to bring to the city this year, and brands that weโre confident our shoppers will love.โ
When it opens, Hollister will join a number of other major fashion retailers already operating at Highcross, including Leviโs, H&M, Zara, Mango, Next, River Island and Urban Outfitters.
